Community Guidelines

Meetly works because most people are here for a friendly, real conversation. These guidelines apply to everyone, in every chat, on text and video. Breaking them can lead to disconnection or restrictions.
The rules
Adults only
You must be 18 or older. If someone appears to be under 18, use Report during the chat to disconnect and submit a report.
Zero tolerance for child exploitation
Any content or conduct that sexualizes, grooms or exploits minors is strictly forbidden. Use Report and contact us about serious concerns. Contact local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.
Keep it clean
No nudity, sexual acts or sexually explicit content, on camera or in text. No unwanted sexual comments or requests.
Be respectful
No harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or hate speech targeting anyone because of their race, ethnicity, religion, caste, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic.
No violence or self-harm content
Do not show or promote violence, weapons used to threaten, animal cruelty, or self-harm. If you or someone you are talking to is in danger, contact local emergency services.
Respect privacy
Do not record, screenshot, stream or share other users without their clear consent. Never share someone else's personal information (doxxing).
No spam, scams or selling
No advertising, links to promote products or channels, asking for money, gift cards or crypto, phishing, or directing people to other sites or apps for commercial purposes.
Be yourself
Do not impersonate other people, play pre-recorded or fake camera feeds, or lie about your age.
Nothing illegal
Do not use the Service for anything illegal, including drugs, weapons sales, fraud or promoting terrorism or extremist organizations.
No bots or abuse of the Service
Do not use automated tools, scripts or multiple devices to spam, scrape, evade bans or disrupt the Service.
Reporting
If someone breaks these rules, use the Report button during the chat. You will be disconnected immediately. Accepted reports block that pair of browser IDs while the server retains its current state. This is not a permanent identity block. For serious concerns, email [email protected].
How reports affect matching
Repeated reports influence who a user is matched with. The current system uses browser IDs and temporary server state; it cannot verify identities or guarantee that someone cannot return. Reports do not include chat recordings or transcripts and do not guarantee live review. Do not send explicit material to our support inbox.
Tips for a good chat
- Start with a simple hello and a question. People respond to curiosity.
- Say where you are from or what you are into; it gives the other person something to reply to.
- Keep your face visible and your surroundings well lit on video.
- It's fine to move on. Press Stop, confirm, then New, and be kind while you do it.
- Keep personal details private, even if the chat is going well.
